The Honda Miimo HRM520, what is it? Toy, Gadget, Expensive, OK I get all of the initial reactions to Honda’s new autonomous mower. But let me add another description to the plate, Economical. Really, especially if you have a lawn service right now. Think about this, the HRM520 will handle up to 3/4 of an acre. For a lawn service, that’s $1200 a year. Your initial investment will be covered in 3 years. In the fourth year your only paying for maintenance, and the electricity to charge the unit. If your mowing the lawn yourself, a dependable, decent zero turn or tractor will cost as much as a Miimo. And remember, you have not mowed your yard once.
Another advantage is your lawn gets mowed when you want it mowed. That means every day, twice a week, three times a week, you choose. There’s no bagging, and because of the clipping size, your feeding your lawn every time you mow. You just need to set it up so it keeps up with your grass growth. Remember this past May? How many times a week did your lawn need mowing. Probably three. With Miimo, set it for a daily mow, and forget about it.
Does Miimo Stripe the lawn? Nope, BUT your lawn is going to look like a carpet, today, tomorrow, all week long. What about trimming around the yard? Yep, your going to still have that done or do it yourself. I’ll have a Miimo video when we are fully setup (Training for Installation from Honda is Completed) and can film the unit in action here in the Toledo area. I’m looking for a public site for Miimo to demonstrate it’s abilities, so any suggestions would be great.
